Eyepiece Projection
with the Meade LPI

I already had a Meade 07361 Variable Projection Camera Adapter which, like most camera adapters, goes onto a T ring and then onto an SLR. The problem was to make it suitable for the LPI with it's standard eyepiece fitting.

After much hunting I found an old department store scope (you know the kind the with plastic lenses that offer amazing views) with a "dewshield" that was an exact fit for the camera adapter. The other end was a bit larger than an eyepiece, but after sliding in a parfocal ring I had a great fit - and a screw lock as well. It is important to have as little movement as possible when you are increasing magnification so all fittings must be snug.

The whole setup is quite light and no problem for the ETX70 ... now I wish I could solve an older problem ...
